Your sites post events.
Your menu bar shows them.
One POST from your app. One notification on your Mac. A running count for the last hour, day, week and month, for every kind of event you care about.

How it works
1. Post an event
From any backend, cron job or webhook handler. One request per event, with whatever fields you like.
curl -X POST https://geteventbar.com/api/v1/event/new_user \
-H "Authorization: Bearer eb_live_…" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"uid":"u_8d2","platform":"ios"}'2. Say how it should read
Give the type a title and a body template in the dashboard, with the fields in braces.
New user
{uid} on {platform}Or don't. An undefined type still shows up, titled after its name, with your message field or the raw fields as the body.
3. See it happen
The Mac app pops a notification within a second and keeps the count. Turn any type off for this Mac without touching the server. Snooze for an hour or until tomorrow.
The relay keeps the counts and, on paid plans, a buffer of events for a Mac that was asleep.

Questions
What do you store?
The rendered title and body of each event plus up to 2 KB of its fields, only for the buffer window your plan allows, and the counts. No IP addresses, no user agents. The privacy page lists every table.
Is it end-to-end encrypted?
No. The relay has to read an event to fill in your template and count it. Don't post secrets; post ids.
Phones?
Planned. The account and the relay are built for it; the Mac app comes first.
